Bulgarian Farmers Block Giurgiu-Ruse Border Crossing
Bulgarian farmers will block Wednesday for six hours the border crossing point Giurgiu-Ruse between Romania and Bulgaria protesting against the imports of milk and meat products from the EU and third countries, novinite.com reported.
The bridge over the Danube will be closed between GMT 1000 and GMT 1600, according to an official statement of the Bulgarian road infrastructure authority. However, the protesters are going to let through cars and buses.
The Bulgarian farmers, who are to protesting mainly against the imports of milk and meat products from the EU and third countries, are also going to block the ferry terminals at the Danube ports of Vidin and Oryahovo.
The farmers have crafted a declaration containing a total of 16 demands for the state support of animal-breeding sector.
