Officials of the New Holland Romania (NHR) Agropartners agricultural equipment importer, local subsidiary of the Austrian VA Intertrading AG Linz company, estimate that the equipment demand on the local market will maintain its 2008 value in 2009, as the this sector is less affected by the crisis than other fields of activity.
The company posted an annual rise in sales of some 30 percent in 2007. According to Monika Puiu, General Manager of NHR Agropartners, a major player on the market, the company’s priority for 2009 is attracting financing sources. “Romania made important investments and has very good farmers. It is discouraging that the future of subsidies and funds is uncertain,” said Puiu.
