Romanian union federation in the food industry Agrostar demanded Wednesday the resignation of finance minister Varujan Vosganian for “sabotaging Romanian economy”, federation president Stefan Nicolae said.
He said that unless Vosganian is sacked, unionists will picket all the headquarters of the Liberal Party in county seats across the country.
"We officially request, and we’ll send a letter tomorrow to the prime minister and the president, the resignation of Vosganian for sabotaging Romanian economy. This ministry treats agriculture and farmers with a lot of disdain. (...) We want him out. (...) If the prime minister doesn’t sack Vosganian, we’ve decided to picket all Liberal Party headquarters in county seats,” Nicolae said.
He added the minister’s "irresponsible" management had a negative impact on farmers’ activity.
