Romanian meteorologists issued Monday a code yellow weather warning forecasting snow throughout most Romanian regions and blizzards in mountain areas Tuesday noon through hursday noon.
"In the timeframe considered, it will snow in most regions, and most of the land will be covered with snow," according to the weather warning posted on the National Meteorology Agency's (ANM) website.
The forecast states the south and east of Romania, as well as mountainous areas, will see quantities of snow higher than 20-25 liters per square meter, coupled with strong gusts of wind causing blizzards.
Mixed precipitations are expected in southern Romania, which will cause icy roads, meteorologists said.
The warning refers to most of Romania's surface, except the western part of the country and the far northeast.
