Freight transshipment through the Port of Kavkaz increased by 15.5% as compared with 2008 - up 8.1 million tons in 2009, IAA PortNews reports citing the Port Authority. The amount of raid handling of export sulfur grew by 45.28 percent, to 1.890.000 tons, of fuel oil as much as 1.6 times, to 1.290.000 tons, of grain over twofold, up to 472.900 tons, of fertilizers, by 1.8 times, to 263.600 tons.
The number of vessels handled in the calendar year grew by 13.5 percent, up to 2.560 ships.
Port of Kavkaz is situated between the Azov and Black Seas on the Russian shore.
