The Grup Romet holding in Buzau [southeastern Romania], with activities in industry and agriculture, controlled by businessman Constantin Toma, registered net sales worth €89 million in the first half of 2009, up seven percent year-on-year (in euro), due to investments in energy and water industry, and also cuts in expenses operated last as early as last year
“In the past three months, things have been much better than in the first two months of this year (Ed. n. – Romet posted a 40 percent annual drop in business in the first quarter of 2009),” Romet’s owner and General Manager, Constantin Toma, told Business Standard.
“We follow the trend forecasted for this year. Romet’s net sales rose seven percent in the first six months of 2009, while profit soared 30 percent year-on-year. These increases reflect the effects of measures taken in the anti-crisis plan applied since last fall, and the good evolution on the water industry market is due to investments in water supplies and sewerage,” the official said.
